We are not going to put a number on this page, because any number that is not based on your roof and your bills is decoration. Here is how the pricing actually works, so you can read a quote properly.
What drives the number
System size. Driven by how much electricity you use, which is why the first thing anyone should ask for is twelve months of bills.
Roof complexity. A simple south-facing slope is straightforward. Multiple planes, dormers, steep pitch and obstructions all add labour.
Equipment. Panel and inverter choices differ in output and warranty.
Electrical work. Older panels sometimes need upgrading before anything gets connected.
Why two quotes on the same house differ
Usually system size. A company that sizes for 100% of your usage and one that sizes for 70% produce very different numbers for the same roof, and neither is automatically wrong. Compare the system size and the equipment before comparing totals.
The questions worth asking anyone, including us
How old is my roof and does it need work first. What happens if I move. What is the warranty on the panels, on the workmanship, and on the roof penetrations. Who actually performs the installation.
If a company gets uncomfortable with any of those, that tells you something useful.
When the answer is no
Solar is not right for every roof. Shade, orientation, pitch, and roof age all rule houses out. You should expect to be told that plainly rather than sold anyway.
Questions homeowners ask
Why will you not put a price on this page?
Because a price that is not based on your roof and your usage is a made-up number, and you would be right not to trust it.
What do you need to give me a real number?
Twelve months of electricity bills and a look at the roof. That is genuinely it.
Is there any obligation?
No. Plenty of reviews end with us saying it does not make sense for that house.
