FAQs

Honest answers about going solar with Sunny Sky Solar — $0 down, no pressure.

How does $0-down solar work?We install solar on your home for no upfront cost through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). You don't buy the system — you simply pay for the clean power it produces, usually at a lower rate than your utility. No loan, no system to buy, and we handle maintenance, monitoring, and the warranty.
Is it really no upfront cost?Yes — on our PPA there's $0 upfront. You pay for the power, not the panels. The goal is a monthly solar payment lower than your current electric bill.
How much can I save?It depends on your bill, roof, and utility, so we give you a specific, free estimate. The aim is to lower your monthly electric costs with a more predictable rate.
Do I qualify? If you own your home and your electric bill is over $100/month, you may qualify. A free estimate checks your roof, shading, and usage — and we'll tell you honestly if it's not a fit.
Do I get a tax credit? On our $0-down PPA you don't own the system, so there's no tax filing or rebate on your end — your benefit is a lower, more predictable power bill. (If you ever choose to purchase a system instead, incentives may apply — please consult a tax advisor.)
What is net metering? When your panels make more power than you use, that extra energy goes to the grid and your utility credits you for it — helping a sunny summer offset cloudier months. Rules vary by state and utility, and we'll explain what applies to your home.
Do solar panels work in the winter?Yes. Panels produce year-round — a bit less on short, cloudy winter days and more in summer. Net metering helps balance the seasons.
How long do solar panels last?Quality panels are built to produce for decades with long manufacturer warranties. On our PPA, we monitor and maintain the system for you the whole time.
What happens if I sell my home?A PPA can typically be transferred to the new homeowner or settled at the time of sale. We'll explain the options up front so there are no surprises.
Which areas do you serve? We're based in Perth Amboy, NJ and serve homeowners across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, and California. Our team is bilingual (English & Spanish).
